| Controversy | • Alleged of defaming the credibility of Nawazuddin Siddiqui: On 20 March 2023, Nawazuddin filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit in the Bombay High Court, against his estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui and brother Shamas Nawab Siddiqui, accusing them of cheating. The actor claimed that he has faced many difficulties after Shamas and Aaliya made false claims and statement about him. The actor appealed to the court to injuct them so that they won’t defame him by publishing defamatory content against him on social media platforms. However, the following day, he sought settlement with his estranged wife and sent a “settlement draft” to his wife Aaliya’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee. Nawazuddin, in his suit, also claimed that Shamas defraud him when Shamas worked as his manager. The actor also alleged that he was blackmailed by Shamas and Aaliya through some cheap video.
