  • Mehmood Junior is an Indian actor, filmmaker, and singer. He is famous for his acting in the Hindi films like ‘Brahmachari’ (1968), ‘Mera Naam Joker’ (1970), ‘Parvarish’ (1977), and ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’ (1980).
  • He became part of the Bollywood industry when he was just 9 years old. Even during his school functions, he used to enact and imitate the styles of different actors.
  • Mehmood Junior’s elder brother used to do still photography on the film sets and Mehmood Jr. used to accompany his brother to the sets as he was really inclined towards films. One day he went with his brother to the set of the Hindi film ‘Kitna Nazuk Hai Dil’ where Mehmood Junior saw a child artist who was finding it difficult to deliver a dialogue. He mocked the child and it was overheard by the director of the film to which the director asked Mehmood Junior if he could narrate the lines.   • It was the famous Indian actor Mehmood who gave Naeem Sayyed the name ‘Mehmood Junior.’ It goes back to the time during the shoot of the film ‘Suhaag Raat’ (1968) when Mehmood Junior met the famous actor Mehmood Ali for the first time. It was Mehmood Ali’s daughter’s birthday party to which Mehmood Junior was not invited. Junior requested the actor to invite him and promised him that he would make sure everyone enjoyed the party. At the party, Mehmood Junior did a dance performance on Mehmood Ali’s song titled ‘‘Hum kale hai toh kya hua dilwale hain,’ which everyone loved. As soon as the party was over, Mehmood Ali asked Junior’s father to bring him to Ranjit Studios the next day. After getting there, Mehmood Ali performed the ritual and made Mehmood Junior his official disciple and in return, Mehmood Junior gave 25 paise as Dakshina (offering) to his guru/idol.
