- In October 2020, Nikhlesh Rathore adopted Leo, a Pomeranian dog that previously belonged to one of his friends. In an interview, he expressed his love of animals and his belief that getting a dog brought him a great deal of luck. He said,
My pet has brought me luck. I am fond of animals and I’m glad that I decided to adopt a dog from my friend three months back. I got a Pomeranian puppy home and now he is very dear to me and my wife. We have named him Leo. I feel that he has been lucky for me because after he came to my life, I got one of my biggest acting breaks – a role in a mythological show, Srimad Ramayana. I have worked in shows like Mithai and Wagle Ki Duniya but the kind of recognition this show is getting me is something I haven’t experienced before. I often take Leo with me to the sets and everyone enjoys being around him. I feel dogs are the best gift for humans. The bond between us is unique. He makes me laugh and also listens to me when I need him to. He understands that he can’t disturb me during work, so he is a good puppy on the sets.”
- He enjoys reading books on spirituality and mythology in his free time. In the seventh standard, he wrote a school play for Independence Day. Talking about how he became drawn to spiritual books during an interview, he said,
Since childhood, my parents advised me to read books on lord Rama, Krishna, Swami Vivekananda and others to make sure that I stay connected to my grounds and grow bright and cultured. Having read literally many books on spirituality, my favourites are Bhagavad Gita, Ramcharitmanas. At times I do read or listen to poetry by Dr. Kumar Vishwas. I enjoy his samvaad like Krishna-Karan or Ram-Bharat. They merge ancient wisdom with modern insights, each one capable of sparking profound shifts in our consciousness.”
- To keep his body fit, Nikhlesh Rathore works out at the gym on a regular basis.
- He stated in an interview that he would like the view from his window to be of the Lakshadweep islands and that his ideal home would resemble Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, Jalsa.
