Seema’s father is industrialist Om Prakash Jindal. O. P. Jindal passed away in a plane crash in 2005. He founded the Jindal Group and its ventures. He served as the Minister of Power for the Government of Haryana until he died in 2005. Seema’s mother, Savitri Jindal took over the Jindal Group on the death of her husband. Savitri was a politician in the Indian National Congress and was named India’s richest woman in 2023 by Forbes.

Seema has eight siblings. Naveen Jindal is an industrialist, philanthropist, sportsperson, and politician of the Indian National Congress. Naveen is a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha. He is the chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (formerly known as Jindal Strips Limited) and Chancellor of O. P. Jindal Global University. Sajjan Jindal is the chairman and managing director of the JSW Group. Prithviraj Jindal is the non-executive chairman of Jindal SAW Limited. Ratan Jindal is the chairman of Jindal Stainless Limited. Seema’s other siblings include Sarika Jhunjhunwala, Urmila Bhuwalka, and Nirmala Goel.

The couple have two children. Their daughter, Nikita Jajodia Bahri, is the strategy head of Nourish Organics. Their son Nikunj Jajodia works in special projects and analytics at Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited.

Career
Nourish Organics
Seema Jajodia is a certified health coach and founder and managing director of Nourish Organics. In 2008, she opened the Nourish Organics Cafe in Delhi, where she sold raw, fresh, organic and unprocessed juices and smoothies. In 2009, Seema started selling healthy packaged food after two of her relatives were diagnosed with cancer, and she noticed a gap in the market when it came to organic and natural packaged food. In an interview where she spoke about why she started the company, Seema said,
A number of life-impacting health complications forced some of my closest family members to choose consuming organic. I turned to research to understand the impact of being organic as a long-term lifestyle choice, and thus Nourish Organics was born.”
Nourish Organics sells items such as breakfast cereals, nutrition bars, health cookies, and snacks. According to Nourish Organics, their products are ‘certified organic’ by an Agricultural Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) accredited certification agency. Nourish is certified by the USDA, Intertek, India Organic, and United Register of Systems.

Controversies
Bankruptcy Claim
In 2018, controversy arose when allegations were made stating that Seema Jajodia, by transferring her shares in Monnet Ispat & Energy, may have helped her brother, Sajjan Jindal‘s company, JSW Steel in a bidding process and benefitted him under the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code. Seema’s share transfer, which was described as “ante-dated”, was under scrutiny. The JSW Group CFO, Seshagiri Rao, vehemently denied these claims and called them “absolutely false.”

I maintain a Gratitude Diary, where I write three things I am grateful for every day. You can also consider contributing to a bigger cause—like volunteering at a special-needs school or an old-age home. These actions can help you shake off any momentary feelings of weakness and move forward.”
