Controversies Operation Prashant Bhushan
On 12 October 2011, Tajinder Singh Bagga, along with other members of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena (BSKS), attacked the Supreme Court lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan inside the Supreme Court complex for his remarks on Kashmir. Bhushan had stated that he wanted the Armed Forces Special Powers Act to be revoked in Jammu and Kashmir at a press conference in Varanasi. Bhushan also called for a plebiscite in Kashmir, a statement which enraged Bagga who accused Bhushan of trying to break up India. [10]Hindustan TimesAfter the assault, Bagga claimed the credit for it by posting a tweet that read,
“He try (sic) to break my nation, I try to break his head. Hisab chukta. Congrats to all. Operation Prashant Bhushan was successful.”
Later, he added,
“We hit Prashant Bhushan hard in his chamber in Supreme Court. If you will try to break my nation, I will break your heads.”

Arrested by West Bengal Police
In 2019, Bagga was arrested by the West Bengal police following after clashes erupted between Trinamool Congress and BJP workers during Union home minister Amit Shah’s roadshow in Kolkata. Thereafter, Bagga took to Twitter and alleged that he was arrested from his hotel room at around 2 am. Later, he tweeted that Kolkata police were searching for CCTV footage or any picture to prove Bagga’s links to the violence that had erupted during the roadshow, but due to a lack of evidence they had to let him go. Morphed Harish Rawat’s Picture as AMU founder Syed Ahmed
In 2022, Uttarakhand Congress registered a complaint with the election commission against BJP and Bagga for causing incitement through social media posts. Bagga had posted a meme containing an image of Congress leader Harish Rawat morphed to make him look like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan (founder of Aligarh Muslim University), and referred to the Congress politician as “Harishuddin”. Consequently, BJP’s state unit received a warning from the election commission instructing it to follow all the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct for the elections. [12]Telegraph India

Defamation Case Against Subramanian Swamy
In December 2021, Bagga filed a criminal defamation case against BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, claiming that Swamy falsely tweeted alleging that Bagga was jailed many times for petty crimes at New Delhi Mandir Marg Police Station before joining the BJP. In his testimony before the trial court, Bagga argued that the allegations against him were false and were surfaced on the internet with the intention of harming his reputation. A stay order was levied on the case with its next hearing on 6 September 2022. [13]The New Indian Express

Inflammatory Statements Case
On 6 May 2022, Bagga was arrested from his Janakpuri residence in Delhi by Punjab Police following a complaint registered against him in Mohali by Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, AAP Punjab spokesperson and party in charge of the Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. In his complaint, Ahluwalia accused Bagga of making provocative statements and promoting religious enmity through his tweets against Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. On their way to Mohali, the Punjab police officers were stopped by Haryana cops after the Delhi Police registered a kidnapping case based on a complaint by Bagga’s father. Bagga was released after being produced before a magistrate at midnight. Thereafter, Bagga approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against him by Mohali court. Consequently, the High court stayed Bagga’s arrest till 10 May 2022. [14]The Indian Express
