- Chitra Wagh is an Indian politician who is known for being appointed as the president of BJP’s women’s wing ‘Maharashtra Pradesh Mahila Morcha’ on 3 November 2022.
- In 2015, when she was part of the Nationalist Congress Party, she stated that the women in rural areas were unsafe and were not treated properly in the police stations under the BJP-Shiv Sena regime.
- In October 2020, Chitra came forward in support of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi who went to UP to meet the family of the girl who was raped in Hathras. While she was going, Priyanka was held by her Kutra by a police officer who tried to stop her from meeting the victim’s family. In a tweet, Chitra asked the UP government to take strict action against the police officer and wrote,
How dare the male police put their hands on the clothes of a female leader. If women are coming forward in support, then wherever the police may be, they must take care of their dignity. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who believes in Indian culture, should take strict action against such policemen.”

- In March 2022, she criticized the government’s decision to use models of male and female reproductive organs in the family planning counselling kit provided to the Asa workers. The Asha workers said they felt uncomfortable while carrying them during the counselling.
