Ulfa(I) executes 2 cadres on charges of ‘spying’ for Army, Assam Police | Guwahati News

GUWAHATI: The banned Ulfa (I) said it had executed two of its new recruits on Saturday after a ‘court’ of the outfit ‘found them guilty’ of ‘spying’ for the Army and Assam Police.
A few weeks back the outfit, which is based in Myanmar, released “confessional” video clips of the two recruits Dhanjit Das of Barpeta and Sanjib Sarma of Baihata Chariali, which have sent to TOI, where they claimed of being “planted” in the outfit by a police officer and a senior officer of the Indian Army to gather inside information of the outfit and destroy its bases in different locations.
The outfit said Dhanjit had also confessed to having been trying to convince other recruits to surrender before authorities and also identified the outfit’s sympathizers to the police leading to their arrests.
The outfit in its statement said that after enquiry a court on May 4 and 5 found the duo guilty of spying and were sentenced to death.
