‘Stranger Things’ fame Noah Schnapp comes out as gay in a viral TikTok video

Noah Schnapp, 18, has officially come out as gay after being ‘scared in the closet for 18 years’.

In a video posted on TikTok, the Stranger Things actor wrote, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know’”

Lip-syncing to an audio clip from a different person, the 18-year-old actor mouths, “You know what it never was? That’s serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, it will never be that serious.”

In the caption to his TikTok video, Schnapp wrote, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”
The short but impactful video has garnered a lot of comments and support on the social platform.
“Welcome king,” TikToker and Meghan Trainor’s BFF, Chris Olsen, wrote.

A social media user wrote, “We all knew Noah! I’m so happy for him though for speaking out!”

Another one said, “We knew but we didn’t care; he’s a good actor.”

It was in July that Schnapp had revealed to Variety for the first time that Will Byers is gay and in love with his best friend Mike (Finn Wolfhard). This was after the release of the final two episodes of the fourth season of “Stranger Things” that he had confirmed the news.

“It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends?” Schnapp said. “Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike.”
